She has stuffed up Boys High in many ways 1. Made stupid rules 2.Hired some useless teaches 3.At assemble if we get in to trouble and stay after she has a long as speech about us being bad 4.She thinks HBHS is the best school in NZ when its really B***S*** 5.It has turned into charter school
So going to HBHS is a mistake

Mrs. Hassall is both an amazing teacher and an inspiring leader. I truly appreciate all the effort Mrs. Hassall puts into making Hamilton Boys' High School an even better place, and I wish that all students appreciate this to

One of New Zealanders great leaders. A primary asset for everthing she has acheived at the school. I love her traditions and her speeches are a real inspiration . Mrs Hassal should be proud of herself and in my opinion is the best thing that happend to the school and the country. As she raises a loving family of 1700 boys, maybe we could see her being the mother of our nation one day . I am thoroughly proud to be a student and will miss this family when my journey here finishes. Kia kaha Mrs Hassal !!!

Theres no reason why people should feel alienated. She supports everyone at HBHS, and when teams win she points that out. Celebrating success is a good thing, mediocrity shouldnt be encouraged, and so im glad that she doesnt encourage it

the first female Dean at HBHS, the first assistant female Principal and the first female Headmaster. to become the first female headmaster she must of been better then all the male headmasters running for this position. i give her credit for this. "the leader of a boys school is a headmaster, so that is what i'll be".

I always thought her love for rowing and rugby was over the top, until I went to uni. You'd be surprised how many people say "Hamilton Boys' - good school" because they know it won gillette cup or maadi cup. Seriously, I was a bit of a nerd, but you will realise how good Mrs Hassall is when the quality of the school gets you places. Even if, like me, you very rarely played sport.

I like her. She does try hard to make the school equal to, or better than, a private school, which sometimes makes her appear to give special privileges to students in sports that beat private schools, but while it is easy to criticise her, she is actually a very effective headmaster.

Extremely good head and person. she gets a 5/5 but... she does get caught up in excellence. HBHS does have a predigous rowing and rugby history, she highlights that, often."a good school is a school that rows" quote was uncalled for but you can see some slight substance in it. With this comes what students call "rowers privilages", where rowers and other "excellence" people get unfair privilages. NB: HBHS won Crickets gillete cup 3 yr in a row 2 yrs ago, rubgy has @ best been 4th, what about other sports??..

She only shows favouritism to those who win, and that to me is called rewarding excellence. She knows most people by name, and that is quite an achievement in a school of around 1500. She also seems very proud of the school, so hopefully she won't be running off to take a pay rise at some filthy private school.

A great headmaster to us. The "Good school is a rowing school" chafed me, as I am a hockey player, but she supports all aspects of the school as much as she can. One person can only have so much time - why not devote it to the things that your school do best?

I am an old boy who was at school when she was made Headmaster. At the time she was made head, I had some serious misgivings - that she was a woman, and didn't really seem interested in sport. How wrong I was. I would definately send any kids I might have to HBHS.

Brilliant Headmaster! No disrespect to Mr Bennett, but there was a distinct lack of success for the school between Steel and Hassall. Now, I feel the school is back on its feet.
