I had Mr West back in the 90s and looking at the comments he's still the Mr West I remember. He is hard but fair. He earns respect and has a no-nonsense approach. One of only a small handful of teachers I still think about 20 years later.
Mocks students who are lazy, is fair and strict.
Insults and giant ego aside, he could be a good teacher if he knew anything about the film subject. You cant teach a subject you know nothing about.
Best teacher, a ton of kids hate him because they think he picks on them, but that's the thing, he picks on everyone, it makes sure his students are grounded, not arrogant and do the best that they can because he knows that they can always do better, so they do.
He sure is one of the most energized teachers i've come to know, at first he was a bit harsh I thought but then I learned, he just wants students to do work and not muck about and once work comes into play in his class you can never go wrong with him.. He sure is one of the funniest and best teachers i've come to know, he can be a bit unhelpful at times but that's because he probably gave the info before hand.. overall though hes sort of mellows out through the year!
Quentin is the type of teacher who only wants people to repect themselves and others and give 100% to their studies. If you did this then he respected you and you did well in his class
Westieeee. No idea why a lot of people dont like him.
A good teacher.Having experienced his teaching styles, I like them. Every teacher at this school has different ways of teaching , and Mr West's are truly unique. He has strong expectaions or his students including his children. The best eg; is his son Dion, the head boy. The evidence is clear that he is a great leader for his children and has authentic syles of this. He has his perceptions about the NZ education system and Steve Maharey should give him a ring sometime. I respect him for his honesty.
Mr West is a good guy, if you don't like him it's probably because you're "scum" :) .
nah man, he is a good teacher, cracks me up all the time, lol,
Gave me a lot of terror, but was probably one of the hardest working and nicest teachers I've ever come across. Is the reason I'm not a layabout "scum" to steal a phrase. I also imagine he'd be shocked by my opinion of him, I think he believed I disliked him quite a lot.
I'll never forget him. Great teacher. Has a huge heart. Dont let his act fool you. The kinda guy i'd love to have as a friend or mentor.
