I had Mr Lowe as my science and horticulture teacher in the 80's, including the first year horticulture became a subject at Boys High. Very well learned, helpful, tough but also inspirational. Mr Lee was a wonderful teacher who I learnt to admire even though he was pretty serious. He set me up for the real world where you cannot afford to work half hearted. I am successfully working in horticulture technology thanks to Michael.
Great science and horticulture teacher
One of the worst teachers I have had at PNBHS. Not actually sure if he studied teaching as it doesn't show through his teaching ability. Seams like a good guy but incredibly grateful I haven''t had him in the senior school.
Quite good teacher
He's a real lad, but he's also pretty boring
He was a useless teacher and couldn't control the class. My class was a streamed class and he had less than a 50% pass rate.
Spends to much time giving and checking homework (eg. once period he wasted half a lesson(30 mins)) when the time could be better used teaching.
those were the days when mr lowe would pull out his guitar and play us a tune, but then one day he stop playing and started giveing us pinl slips. he always gave us buc choi aswell if we were good
I had him for science in 1998 and he was just as bad then - he'd just read the textbook in class and wouldn't even cover all the material for the exams. I'm surprised he's still there.
writin out of text books thats not teaching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Lowe struggles to control his classroom environment. He is pleasant and helpful on occasion, but a lack of knowledge and teaching skills severely affect his overall teaching abilities.
Apparently he does like 1 or 2 experiments per year - Boiling water !
