May seem very rude, strict or mean to many, but I believe he is a knowlegeable, understanding, strong, bold and wise person and Leader. He is the best thing for Macleans due to the fact that if we did not have such a strong willed principle like himself, our school would be run straight to the ground. He has been able to keep Macleans running successfully for many years, and is unfortunately stepping down. Overall he is an amazing principle.

He runs the school like a business and an asset. Doesn't take the time to get to know the student body and only regconises and talks to the A star students. He is not helpful and approachable towards any of the students and doesn't deal with the students directly and passes on students problems to the deputy principles. personally I believe that the school will be in much better hand with one of the deputy principles.

If only I had a dollar for every time he rambled on in assemblies or asked for another round of applause. But then, it would be better to comment on how the scholars and achievers are looked up to, but not those that persevere and try to do their own best. Be fair and keep your word - live up to the standards you preach and expect.

I would like to see him more passionate when speaking in front of the school, and to change some rules because then it would motivate us more and actually make the school a pleasant environment to work in - which is what the school has an obligation to do.

He's able to run the school fairly alright, but sometimes I find that there are rules that aren't reasonable.Like, why can't we wear our jacket and scarf inside during winter?!! and why aren't we allowed nail polish??

Look at what he's done to the school, look at how its fallen over the years I've been here. WAKE UP BENTLEY, you've made mistakes for too long, I don't care if he never smiles or has strict rules but he's messing with our future. Look at the amount of money he's spent on the music department buying useless things to get the school publicity while we dont' even have proper text books for our studies

Hes probably the worst public speaker in history! But as an individual he really cares for the school and does his best to give students opportunities. He has completed this beyond the limit and I really respect him for that. Keep it up BJ! Its just some ridiculous rules where girls can't wear gold or green studs, only blue, white and blue? Ok they're the schools colours but its very unlikely people will notice them when chicks walk out of school. I mean c'mon , its STUDS!!! Sheesh!

Think about it people..if you would rather be in a school where you can be beaten up whenever, never have a good class cause so many kids misbehave, see nothing but slobs and 'gangsters' all day etc. etc. then why don't you go to edgewater or something? Mr Bentley may be strict, but if you think about it it's actually for our benefit. You say that it is the students who make the good grades, and that is true, BUT, it is the strict atmosphere in the classroom that allows the students to work and achieve this

he's an awesome principal .. you can't expect him to be as friendly and interact with students as much as lonergan...that's the way principal should be to maintain his status in the whole school hierarchy thing. people can swear and say anything to lonergan, jokingly and step over the line at times but not to bentley. yes his assemblies are long and he is seriuos, but that's what all good schools have. he conducts the school really well and we have a good reputation , so he's awesome. and a nice person.

Sure, i have my complaints about bentley - idolisation of the first XV, the new front office whilst the students are freezing in winter and melting away in summer - but i think with such a large school he does quite an admirable job. do u really expect him to interact with students when there are 3000 of us at any time, and we are constantly changing with the old ones going out and the new ones coming in? its part of the job to keep distant so the authoritative image is maintained.

I reckon that school assemblies shudnt b compulsary, it shud b a place where students go when they hav an award or when they know their m8s is going to receive an award.

Bentley needs to interact more with students. He will walk past you without even a grunt. His speeches are very boring and seem to take so long. Thought, without him Macleans would have no standing.
