I have been a student at Westlake for a year and I have seen her three times in her golf cart and the first time she spoke to us was at the prize giving at the end of the year. The other time I saw her was at opening night and her speech was painful and droning. She went on for twenty minutes about public transport. We love you Mrs Gernhoefer :)

Golf-carts and stuck in her chair stories are getting OLD. She is a fantastic Principal and has stood the test of time. Westlake has been blessed to have her. Well done Gerny!

Not many people like her. I don't really know her but then again that's probably because she rarely communicates with the students. Maybe she should spent less time in that golf cart of hers...

Been the principal now ever since my oldest cousin (40 something) started Westlake! A few people agree she should start enoying the retired life, Friendly and nice but needs to see SPORTS and MUSIC are NOT everything today!

Mrs Gernhoeffer is amazingly passionate about education and aiming to motivate and inspire students to do their best in everything they do. Genuinely kind and lovely she is an awesome principal! Perhaps a little more interaction with students would benefit her popularity, but she is a very busy lady

Mrs G is an amazing principal, despite what people have said about her. The support that she gives the teachers and the students and her vision for the school is amazing. People will not realise how good the education that they are recieving from a public school is until they leave. Thanks Mrs G.

politically astute, however completely out of touch with the students as individuals. How many other people would respond to a prefect's greeting in the shops with "do you go to my school?"

We don't need much hist nor geo, why there're no science courses? Geez,it's just a waste of time and money to do BOTH GCSEandNCEA
